Ant Picnic: The Antonyms & Synonyms Game

The Ant Picnic game is a game played in groups of 3-5 people. It is played to find the card without a match in each round. The player that has the non-matching card in the end is the winner. It is a self-checking game, which promotes learning. To play the game, a player calls out the word on one of the cards to see if anyone has a synonym or antonym that would go along with it. The players keep playing until someone finds the card that doesn't have a match.

Appletters is a game for early readers that is similar to Bananagrams. To play the game, the players work in groups to form word worms. The longer you play, the more you use the existing letters from the previously formed words, to create new words. This game really helps children with sight word and word recognition. They will continuingly be thinking and searching for new words in order to win, which in the long run, teaches them a lot.

Monopoly Jr |
Monopoly Jr is a game that is very relatable to real life situations. It is a simulation of life, that ties in literacy and mathematics. Monopoly Jr is the child-friendly version of Monopoly. However, in Monopoly Jr, the setting is an amusement park, full of games, rides, etc. It requires the children to know at least their basic sight words, but also teaches them life lessons of paying bills, getting paid, etc. But most of all, the children are having fun!

Guess Who is a game of 20 questions. Each player picks a card with a person on it, and tries to guess the other player's card before theirs gets guessed. It teaches them deductive reasoning and being and to think logically. The players need to be able to talk to the opponents and get their point across to be able to succeed.
